40 Years Later, Delco Restaurant Honors Long-Expired Gift Certificate 🎫

When Sue Holden and Cindy Miller unearthed a 40-year-old gift certificate to the Clam Tavern in Clifton Heights while cleaning their late mother’s house, they didn’t expect it to be honored. But in a heartwarming twist, the restaurant owner embraced the nostalgia and accepted the long-expired voucher. “It’s the hospitality business,” said owner Tony Blanche. The sisters enjoyed a “fantastic” meal, despite the irony that Holden is allergic to clams! Now that’s customer service.

The Spotted Lanternfly Apocalypse: Squash Now, Ask Questions Later 🪰

In the latest drama of "Invasive Pests Gone Wild," states are issuing kill-on-sight orders for the infamous spotted lanternfly, that colorful but destructive bug that first crashed onto the scene in the Philly area. Since its arrival nine years ago, it’s been wreaking havoc on crops like apples, grapes, and hops (no, not the beer!). These insects still aren’t going away. So, if you spot one, feel free to channel your inner action hero and squash it. The USDA will thank you.
