Springfield High School Joins the Elite: Wins National Blue Ribbon Award 🏅

Springfield High School just added a new feather to its cap, snagging the coveted National Blue Ribbon School award from the U.S. Department of Education. It’s one of only 13 schools in PA and 356 nationwide to score this recognition, which highlights academic excellence and efforts to close achievement gaps. With a school culture full of Cougar Pride, Springfield’s success spans academics, arts, sports, and community service. From top-tier Science Olympiad teams to a music program recognized for 12 straight years, Springfield High is showing the nation what Delco is made of!

Flyers Welcome Guy Gaudreau to Practice for Healing Moment After Tragic Loss 🙏

In a heartfelt moment, the Philadelphia Flyers welcomed Guy Gaudreau, father of the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau, to their practice, where he assisted with drills. Gaudreau, a longtime hockey coach, was invited by Flyers head coach John Tortorella as a way to help him cope after the tragic loss of his sons in a recent accident. Tortorella, who attended the brothers' funeral, emphasized that the team wanted Gaudreau to feel like part of the Flyers family, offering their support during this incredibly difficult time.

PA Colleges Shine in U.S. News Rankings: 8 Schools Crack the Top 100 🎓

Pennsylvania is showing up strong in the latest U.S. News & World Report rankings with eight colleges securing spots in the top 100 universities nationwide. Leading the pack is the University of Pennsylvania at No. 10, followed by Carnegie Mellon University at No. 21. Schools like Lehigh University (No. 46), Villanova University (No. 58), Penn State (No. 63), Drexel University (No. 86), and Temple University (No. 98) also made the cut.

Two Friends, One Mission: Haverford Moms Launch Nonprofit to Support Foster Families ❤️

Two Haverford friends, Sarah Todd and Katie Casey, turned their lifelong bond into something truly meaningful: founding Well Rooted, a nonprofit supporting foster families and youths aging out of the system. The duo, who both became foster parents, saw firsthand the challenges in fostering and created Well Rooted to fill gaps in the support system.

Since launching, they've helped over 30 families and 12 young adults. From delivering meals to new foster parents to offering mentorship for those transitioning into adulthood, Well Rooted is all about building a community—because, as Casey puts it, “We all need a village.”

And by the way, there's a lot more to fostering than writing a check—it's about heart, time, and connection.

The Phillies are NL East champs for the first time in 13 years! Clinching a playoff spot was the first step. The Phillies did that Friday in New York. Monday night took care of the division. The next goal is claiming a first-round bye and the magic number is 2. The Phillies lead the Brewers by 4½ games (3½ plus the tiebreaker) with five to play.
