THE DIGEST

Best of Delco Awards: Hoagie Showdowns & Cheesesteak Champs! 🏆

The Best of Delco awards are rolling in, and you know what that means—it's time to fire up those local food debates! 🚨 Some winners have already started to leak, and let's just say the hoagie and cheesesteak wars are officially heating up. Big congrats to Sangillo's Farm Fresh (a Hey Delco favorite) for snagging the Best Hoagie crown and Leo's Steaks for taking top honors in the Best Cheesesteak category. And for the BBQ lovers, Wilson's Secret Sauce is officially the smoke king of Delco.

As of writing this, the Delco Times hasn’t released the full list. But if you want to see more winners before the full list drops, just head to Facebook, type "Best of Delco" in the search bar, and watch the award posts flood your feed.

Celebrating History: Delaware County Historical Society’s New Digs and Gala 🎉

The Delaware County Historical Society is throwing a big birthday bash to celebrate not just its 129th year but also the grand opening of its brand-new digs at 9 W. Front St. in Media. On Thursday, September 26, you can pop in for a free open house from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. to check out their latest location, explore historic artifacts, and enjoy some family-friendly activities. But if you're in the mood for something a little fancier, snag a ticket to the gala that evening—complete with live music, local fare, and a raffle—for just $30. A great chance to support local history while getting a night out!

New Law: PA Gas Stations & Grocery Stores Can Now Sell Canned Cocktails, Hard Seltzers 🍸

Pennsylvanians can now snag their favorite canned cocktails and hard seltzers at gas stations and grocery stores, thanks to a new law signed by Gov. Josh Shapiro. Starting this week, businesses across the state are allowed to sell ready-to-drink beverages with an alcohol content of up to 12.5%. Previously, you could only find these at liquor stores, but now you can grab a cocktail to-go (in containers up to 16 ounces) while filling up the tank or doing your grocery run. A bipartisan effort made this boozy convenience possible. Cheers to progress!
