THE DIGEST

We’re In The Shore House Rental Business Now 😉

So, here’s the deal: On Saturday Jen and I were at Pepperoncini, enjoying a big cousins dinner, when my one cousin casually dropped that his gorgeous penthouse condo in North Wildwood just had a last-minute cancellation. Naturally, I thought, why not give our newsletter readers first dibs?

I’ve always thought ‘Hey Delco’ could eventually be a great source of real estate rentals. So now it’s time to put on our lab coats and goggles to test that theory.

Here’s the deets: It’s a two-story, 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom, ocean-view penthouse at Regency Towers, right on the beach. Sleeps 9, includes a newly renovated kitchen, floor-to-ceiling windows, and views that’ll make you forget about everything except how fast you can get to the shore. Plus, there's a heated pool, BBQ grills, and all the beach vibes you could dream of.

If you’re looking for an excuse to escape, this is it. The week of August 17-24 is up for grabs, but act fast—this place is going to go quicker than a seagull after your french fries on the boardwalk. So, who’s in?

Vote For The Final ‘Tour De Delco’ Destination

As we have been highlighting over the past week, 94WIP is taking their show on the road with the "Tour de Delco," a journey through Delaware County to celebrate sports, traditions, and all things Delco pride.

Well, 4 locations have been selected, and you have the opportunity to vote on the 5th location.

Here’s the current Tour de Delco Lineup:

8/13 - Dolan’s Bar | Ridley Park

8/15 - Tavola at Springfield Country Club | Springfield

8/20 - Streetlight Kitchen & Bar (at the Drexelbrook) | Drexel Hill

8/21 - Dining under the Stars | Media

Delco’s Priciest Colleges Nearing the $100K/yr Mark

Higher ed analyst Bryan Alexander has been crunching the numbers on college tuition for years, and his latest update hits close to home—literally.

With sticker prices hovering in the upper $80K range, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges are creeping dangerously close to that jaw-dropping $100,000 annual tuition mark, Yep, you read that right: a six-figure bill just to hit the books.

As these prestigious institutions join the ranks of America’s priciest schools, Delco might soon have the dubious honor of housing the first local colleges to cross the $100K threshold. Will parents and students balk, or will they cough up the cash for a diploma wrapped in gold leaf?

One thing’s for sure: the cost of prestige is skyrocketing, and your wallet might need a parachute.

We don’t even want to think what tuition will be when our kids are ready for college. 😭

Salute and Save: Delco Expands Discount Program for Vets and Active Military

Delaware County just leveled up its support for those who serve with the relaunch and expansion of the Veteran and Active Military ID Discount Program. Now, both veterans and active military members can enjoy discounts at over 50 local businesses—everything from dining to shopping, with more businesses encouraged to join the mission. It’s a win-win: service members save, and local businesses boost their foot traffic while showing their appreciation.

If you are a business and you want to participate in supporting our vets and active military, submit your request here.

PLUS...you can also show your support to our vets at the Veterans Roll Call! Join fellow vets and supporters for a monthly gathering at Artillery Brewing Company, where stories are shared, and camaraderie is celebrated.

Preseason Game #1 - Eagles 16 @ Ravens 13

It wouldn’t be an Eagles game (even in the preseason), without making us sweat to the very last field goal attempt. The game wrapped up with a wild sequence that saw Jake Elliot miss a field goal with less than 1 min left, the Eagles force a fumble with 10 seconds left, then the Eagles hit the game winning field goal as time expires.

The Eagles face the Patriots on Thursday at 7 PM.
