Honoring the Gaudreau Brothers: Funeral at St. Mary Magdalen Church

Sometimes, the weight of what we have to share goes beyond our usual upbeat tone. Today, we feel it’s important to pause and acknowledge the tremendous loss within the Gaudreau family. NHL hockey player Johnny Gaudreau and his brother Matthew died last week when they were struck and killed by a suspected drunken driver while riding their bicycles in their home state of New Jersey on the eve of their sister Katie’s wedding. In moments like these, the Delco community comes together, and while the headlines hit hard, it’s the support from family, friends, and fans that truly shines through. Our thoughts are with them.

The funeral for the Gaudreau brothers has been scheduled for Monday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Upper Providence Township.

Camden Trying to Ethically Bribe the Sixers

Uh oh, Sixers fans! It looks like the team might be eyeing the wrong side of the Ben Franklin Bridge for their next home. Camden is offering up nearly $1 billion in incentives to lure the Sixers across state lines, thanks to some Philly drama over their proposed Center City arena. The Hey Delco fam is not too thrilled about our team potentially hopping over to New Jersey. Let’s keep the hoops in Philly, please!

Alright, let’s chat about all the new spots popping up in Delco this fall! First up, Federal Donuts & Chicken is finally getting its own location in Radnor in just a few weeks. Then there’s Spread Bagelry in Newtown Square, where they’ll soon be serving light dinners too. Over in Media, Departure is opening in an old bank with some seriously cool small plates. And in Glen Mills, Testa Rossa is bringing pizza and pasta from the Fearless Restaurants group (The same group behind White Dog Cafe, Autograph, Moshulu, and many more). Excited yet?
