Swarthmore gets national love 🏆 Delco elementary schools make the grade 🎓Community Events, Fall Festivals, & Oktoberfests are here đŸ»

Good morning, Delaware County! Welcome to Hey Delco, the newsletter whose timing is as predictable as Nick Castellanos hitting homers during major news events.

If you’re unfamiliar with this reference, the coincidence started in 2021 when he hit a home run as a broadcaster was discussing the passing of a WWII veteran, and it has since become an internet meme. While it's purely coincidental, the pattern has occurred enough times that it’s taken on a life of its own in the baseball community. Here’s a 5-minute compilation video of Nick Castellanos hitting a home run during tragic news days (which doesn’t include his home run this past Wednesday on 9/11 đŸ€Ż).

In today’s edition:

  • Swarthmore gets national love 🏆

  • Delco elementary schools make the grade 🎓

  • Community Events, Fall Festivals, & Oktoberfests are here đŸ»

  • Live music schedule đŸŽ¶

  • And much more

Let’s get to it.
